The Westborough Athletic Booster Association, Inc. (WABA) is
a charitable, non-profit organization whose purpose it is to
encourage enthusiastic support and interest in Westborough
high school and middle school athletics; to award
scholarships which contribute to the post-secondary
education of graduating athletes; to contribute to the
advancement and needs of athletic programs in those schools;
to lend support to the Director of Athletics; and generally
to perform all duties and activities permitted to non-profit
corporations under the provisions of Chapter 180 of the
General Laws of Massachusetts, section 501 (c)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Code of 1954 as from time to time amended.
Goals and Initiatives -The
Westborough Boosters are
working to embrace all
schools, all sports, all
seasons and help create
and foster a unified fan
spirit to support all
our teams. We are
nearing completion of
the Ranger Plaza
entryway and permanent
donor recognition at the
Joseph R. Mewhinney
Field Complex, the third
phase of what was born
as the "Turf's Up"
project. Ongoing
fundraising will help
support collaborative
efforts between
individual teams, the
Recreation Department,
the School Department
and Boosters to maintain
the safety and
effectiveness of
equipment and fields,
specifically at Gibbons
Middle School and
Westborough High School.
Boosters will continue
the tradition of holding
its annual Golf
Tournament in June to
raise money for
student-athlete
scholarships awarded to
selected graduating
seniors. We look forward
to the involvement and
ideas of Westborough
Schools staff, parents
and community members in
helping us achieve our
goals.
